Scarlet Alliance and SWOP NSW Joint Submission on the Anti-Discrimination Act Review
New South Wales was once a world leader in recognising the human rights of sex workers, being the first jurisdiction in the world to decriminalise sex work. However, NSW now lags behind other states and territories who have implemented laws that fully decriminalise sex work and protect sex workers from discrimination. In this joint submission, Scarlet Alliance and SWOP NSW argue that NSW’s Anti-Discrimination Act needs significant reform to address discrimination towards sex workers, LGBTQI+ people, people who use drugs, people living with HIV and people with disabilities.
